Trying to find a nice ATV park to ride your ATV in Indiana ? Well, whaddaya know...there are plenty but I have to admit that if you're not familiar with Indiana , finding an ATV park can be a little bit of a challenge. But we have been to Badlands Off-Road Park where we dare say is one of the best ATV park there is in Indiana . The Badlands Off-Road Park is actually located near the western part of Indiana ...near Attica .
This is not a public ATV park so you don't find skateboarders, people hanging around fishing, kids screaming their heads off here. The kids and youth at this ATV park are pretty much just as serious as you are about ATV riding. The Badlands Off-Road ATV park is about 800 acre which provides full day of fun (sometimes days) in many different terrains, so, you get to choose which type of terrain you want to ride in. We loved the wood trails and the bottomless mud parts of this ATV park but you can find others here as well...like the sand dunes, pea gravel hills and the hill-climbing park. We had kids with us during that ATV trip, so, we didn't want to challenge the young ones so early on in life.
Accordingly, the owner of the place, Troy Myers, used to ride in the old gravel quarry as a boy and when he grew-up, he decided to buy off the land and turn it into an ATV park for all ATV enthusiasts! Perfect-o! Now, the great thing about Badlands Off-Road ATV park is that there are many different places designed for ATV riders of differing skill levels - it's good for beginners who want to practice their ATV riding skill and it's also great for those who want to challenge themselves. The kids hung around the ATV's park's kids' track all day long without complaint. Hey, we're telling you that this is no simple thing to us - no kids complaining? Anyway, the kids' track is good for even kids as young as three-years-old, so, don't worry. It's perfectly safe there.
Needless to say, one of the main attraction of this ATV park is the scenery - man, it's just too awesome for words. We spent the whole day riding our ATVs with intermittent stops for good shots in front of jaw-dropping scenery! From sand to mud, from mud to hills and from hills to dirt! We didn't try it out but according to some of the staff there, there's a special 200-acre area designed specifically for trucks section where many rock crawling fans take their trucks to. Apparently, they've hosted National Rock Crawling Championships here before.
This ATV park also offers two gigantic drain tiles where you can race through and land in water...woo hoo! And then there's the massive area with mud in it for all you ATV fans to get really down and dirty in. Didn't I tell you? This is like a big, huge ATV theme park.
If you're interested in riding this ATV park, you'll be happy to know that the park remains open almost all year round from 9 morning till 5pm both weekends and weekdays. They're closed for Christmas and Thanksgiving.
It doesn't cost very much to ride on this ATV park...just pay for their day pass and you're in. The basic rules of ATV riding applies, like no alcohol, safety equipment required, flags are required, no passengers on ATVs, no littering, and there's a speed limit of 5mph in parking areas.
Don't worry about lodging and food either, there are many scattered around nearby areas of the ATV park. Some pretty good restaurants are in Attica so, just take a short drive there for dinner, gas and stuff.
