Look Before You Ride - An ATV Inspection List

!±8± Look Before You Ride - An ATV Inspection List

Taking an ATV trip can be fun and exciting; making sure your ATV is in good working condition before you go will help ensure it turns out that way. Off-road riding wears down the machine, which makes regular maintenance critical. You don't want to end up stranded or hurt. The best thing you can do is to check your owner's manual for guidelines specific to your vehicle. In general, you'll want to look over the following things.

First, inspect your tires. Make sure they are at the necessary air pressure level, and that both sides are equal. Check for gouges and punctures; you don't want to lose any air while you're out riding. Look at the bearings and nuts on the actual wheels as well to make sure nothing is loose or worn out. Test the steering; it should be tight and smooth.

Next test the brakes and shifter--make sure the pedals are adjusted to the rider. Try out the kill switch so you know it's working. Check the throttle, and clean off the controls and cables. Make sure the lights (especially brake lights) are working as well. Walk around the vehicle and ensure that all the parts and joints are fastened correctly and are clean. Last, but not least, make sure you have enough fuel and oil. You'll also want to check the coolant level; you don't want the machine overheating!

Get in the habit of washing and inspecting your ATV after every ride and looking it over before the next one. Taking a minute or two to make sure nothing's wrong may save your life, not to mention your trip.

The Badlands Off-Road ATV Park

!±8± The Badlands Off-Road ATV Park

Trying to find a nice ATV park to ride your ATV in Indiana ? Well, whaddaya know...there are plenty but I have to admit that if you're not familiar with Indiana , finding an ATV park can be a little bit of a challenge. But we have been to Badlands Off-Road Park where we dare say is one of the best ATV park there is in Indiana . The Badlands Off-Road Park is actually located near the western part of Indiana ...near Attica .

This is not a public ATV park so you don't find skateboarders, people hanging around fishing, kids screaming their heads off here. The kids and youth at this ATV park are pretty much just as serious as you are about ATV riding. The Badlands Off-Road ATV park is about 800 acre which provides full day of fun (sometimes days) in many different terrains, so, you get to choose which type of terrain you want to ride in. We loved the wood trails and the bottomless mud parts of this ATV park but you can find others here as well...like the sand dunes, pea gravel hills and the hill-climbing park. We had kids with us during that ATV trip, so, we didn't want to challenge the young ones so early on in life.

Accordingly, the owner of the place, Troy Myers, used to ride in the old gravel quarry as a boy and when he grew-up, he decided to buy off the land and turn it into an ATV park for all ATV enthusiasts! Perfect-o! Now, the great thing about Badlands Off-Road ATV park is that there are many different places designed for ATV riders of differing skill levels - it's good for beginners who want to practice their ATV riding skill and it's also great for those who want to challenge themselves. The kids hung around the ATV's park's kids' track all day long without complaint. Hey, we're telling you that this is no simple thing to us - no kids complaining? Anyway, the kids' track is good for even kids as young as three-years-old, so, don't worry. It's perfectly safe there.

Needless to say, one of the main attraction of this ATV park is the scenery - man, it's just too awesome for words. We spent the whole day riding our ATVs with intermittent stops for good shots in front of jaw-dropping scenery! From sand to mud, from mud to hills and from hills to dirt! We didn't try it out but according to some of the staff there, there's a special 200-acre area designed specifically for trucks section where many rock crawling fans take their trucks to. Apparently, they've hosted National Rock Crawling Championships here before.

This ATV park also offers two gigantic drain tiles where you can race through and land in water...woo hoo! And then there's the massive area with mud in it for all you ATV fans to get really down and dirty in. Didn't I tell you? This is like a big, huge ATV theme park.

If you're interested in riding this ATV park, you'll be happy to know that the park remains open almost all year round from 9 morning till 5pm both weekends and weekdays. They're closed for Christmas and Thanksgiving.

It doesn't cost very much to ride on this ATV park...just pay for their day pass and you're in. The basic rules of ATV riding applies, like no alcohol, safety equipment required, flags are required, no passengers on ATVs, no littering, and there's a speed limit of 5mph in parking areas.

Don't worry about lodging and food either, there are many scattered around nearby areas of the ATV park. Some pretty good restaurants are in Attica so, just take a short drive there for dinner, gas and stuff.

Getting all geared up about riding on this ATV park and need more information? You can visit their website at http://www.badlandsoffroad.com or give them a call at (765) 762 2981 or email them at information@badlandsoffroad.com

Have fun! On a final note, if you want to go there, bring the kids along if you have any. I promise you they'll have a ball there!

Polaris Ranger and RZR Fuel Pump Problems - Is Your Polaris Ranger Running Poorly?

!±8± Polaris Ranger and RZR Fuel Pump Problems - Is Your Polaris Ranger Running Poorly?

We really like the ride of the Polaris UTVs. Unfortunately, we have noticed that Polaris built the RZR, RZR-S, and Ranger XP with an unreliable fuel pump. In fact, the fuel pump is one of the main problems we see at our service and performance shop. The symptoms you typically experience when your pump is failing are poor upper RPM performance, a loss of top speed and poor acceleration. This definitely makes your Polaris much less fun to drive, but even more importantly, a fuel pump problem can cause your engine devastating damage by not supplying enough fuel. When your engine doesn't receive the required fuel it will run lean.

This creates heat which can cause detonation in the combustion chamber. The worst case scenario (and we have seen this many times) is that the intense heat will actually melt a hole in your piston. Here is what happens. After some usage the pump will wear and then drop from the factory PSI setting of 39 psi, to the low 30s. When your upper revs are sluggish you just aren't getting any fuel. To test this install a fuel pressure gauge at your tank outlet. You can buy these at NAPA or PEP Boys. It is necessary that you rev your engine when testing because many times the pressure will be good at idle but not at the upper RPMs.

To replace your pump with the OEM fuel pump you will need to spend upwards of 0. The high price is because it is only available with the complete fuel tank assembly. Fortunately you can purchase a replacement fuel pump which will work on most Polaris S X S vehicles. Replacement pumps come with color instructions and include everything you will need for installation. Generally they can be installed in about 30 minutes with simple hand tools. The pump plugs right in with no wiring needed.

If you are experiencing poor performance with your Polaris Ranger or RZR this may be your problem. Check out your fuel PSI and if needed get a replacement fuel pump. You bought your Polaris to have some great times. Now you can get back on your UTV and enjoy its top performance once again. As a sidenote this same problematic fuel pump is used in many of the fuel injected Polaris quads. If you own a Polaris ATV and you are having similar symptoms simply follow the same procedure for testing the PSI. Replacement pumps are also available for the Polaris Sportsman.

What You Get From Hiring Professional Snow Plow Services

!±8± What You Get From Hiring Professional Snow Plow Services

If you remember the great blizzard that covered many areas in the east coast cities like Ellicott City, Columbia and Baltimore in several feet of snow early in 2010, then you remember how much of a of hassle it was clearing all of that snow out.
With winter right around the corner, it makes sense to hire snow plow services to do the work for you this upcoming season so that you don't run the risk of hurting yourself shoveling tons of snow this time around.

When snow blankets any area during the winter, it brings the risk of covering roads, driveways and sidewalks in sheets of ice with it. Unfortunately, it isn't uncommon for homeowners to slip, fall and hurt themselves when trying to remove snow from their property.

Snow removal companies do this sort of thing all the time and know how to deal with sheets of ice and other hazards associated with the snow plowing business.

Think about all of the aches, pains and sores you've probably had to deal with after hours of hard labor and it makes sense to have professional snow plow services take care of your property for you.

Commercial snow removal makes even more sense for people who live out of the way areas that may not always be visited by municipal employees. For homeowners of more remote properties, professional snow removal can be a real lifesaver when it comes to not being stuck in the snow without being able to get anywhere for days at a time.

Snow removal companies are of great benefit to people who own apartments as well.

If you're a landlord, then think about how much ground the property that you manage covers. With the hundreds of tenants that lease your properties, it's important that you be able to keep everyone happy and safe in the midst of heavy snow fall.

Having your maintenance crews clear sidewalks and pathways so that children and elderly tenants can safely travel them may be too daunting a task for them either because the staff isn't large enough or because they may not have the proper equipment needed to handle the workload.

By contracting snow plow services to clear and maintain your property in order to make travel safe for your tenants, you can free up your maintenance workers to be able to address other issues with your building units that may arise due to the wintry weather.

Knowing that professional snow removal services can make your life much easier than it typically is during winter, it makes sense to get in touch with one the minute the snow begins to pile up.

When shopping for a company that can clear your property of snow, you'll want to make sure that any potential hires have longstanding reputations for quality work. Besides being sure that your property is going to be made safe for you and whoever else might travel it, the company doing them should be able to do the job as efficiently as possible so that you have one less thing to worry about during what is traditionally a hard time for many homeowners.

Jeep Snow Plow

!±8± Jeep Snow Plow

We all know that jeeps are one of the best off road cars in the world, but snow is a whole other territory even for a jeep. However you can attach several equipments on the jeep such as ice pokes on the wheels as well as snow plowing equipment at the front of the car. The best way to find this kind of equipment for making your jeep into a snow plowing machine is by searching the internet, where you will find the right stores to go to as well as the right equipment to buy so you don't go buying the wrong size or the wrong material.

There are currently a variety of snow plow machines and vehicles in the market today and a couple of them would include ATV, tractor snow plows, and truck snow plows. Jeep snow plows are not that different from these others. However with a jeep snow plow you are probably using your own jeep and will have to buy your own materials that you will attach to the jeep for plowing purposes.

The materials involved will have to be strong and sturdy as well as light enough to be held by your jeep. The blade has to have corrosion resistant paint so as to last you a while and also be able to withstand brute force because you might encounter some hard surfaces as you are plowing the snow. The best quality of blades would be from Meyer's snow plow blades and Boss snow plow blades.

Jeep snow plows are mostly used by home owners or buy people who are trying to make a living during a snow season by plowing the streets for others as well as driveways. Its best to get the right materials for your jeep and if you are not sure look for an expert and get an opinion on how to go about it.

Choosing the Right Tractor Tire Chains

!±8± Choosing the Right Tractor Tire Chains

Tractor snow chains are available in many of the same models, styles and designs, like the other snow chains. Depending on the size and brand of the tractor and tractor wheel, a variety of snow chains to be found.

As with many other types of snow chains, there are many different ways in tractor tire chains. The most popular choice, and is most often recommended, is two-link with an optional V-Bar spacing. Two link spacing means that there is a chain cross chain every second sidelink. In essence, it has twice the cross chains as the four-link spacing, which is only a cross chain every fourth side chain link. The extra-chains to provide a steady, smooth ride and more steering. The optional V-Bar chains are extremely useful on the ice, hills and other difficult conditions packaged. While V-bar chains, two-and four-link spacing are available, they should not be used on asphalt, because they can damage the surface of the road.

Kubota Tractor TiresChains are in the basic version with two and four-link chains. Kubota recommends the use of snow chains and wheel weights in icing conditions. Even when using snow chains, drivers should still slowly at a rate sufficient to ensure full control of the tractor at all times to keep around.

For tractors, dealers recommend duo-group cross snow chains. These chains are not connected to the center so that the models fall between the tread blocks. Duo-group cross chains are recommended for field work, deep tread, off-road and hilly terrain, which makes them the perfect choice for farm tractor tire chains.

Lawn Sweeper - Which type is right for you?

!±8± Lawn Sweeper - Which type is right for you?

So you rake your lawn with a big hand when suddenly pinching back.

The pain shoots down my spine and puts a light bulb in your head ... "There must be an easier way, scraps of grass, leaves, nuts and seeds can be clear from my lawn"

Lawn sweepers will be limited to rake in the trash forever, but that is the right choice for you?

We need four simple questions;

• What is your budget?

• Do you have a lawn mower or riding mower?

• HowSpace you have?

• How big is the lawn that you want to delete?

So, what are the options? Well, sweepers are available in two basic classes. This will push and drag types.

Push lawn sweepers are operated by hand and push to get your lawn debris. They are usually made of plastic in the construction and when the shopping is a basic model, the price generally lower. Hopper size, but can be a problem. When using a push lawn sweeper is greatly reduced the cost of the lawnShare on a small lawn, you may find you are emptying the container more often. They are perfectly suited for small and medium-sized lawns. Push-type require much less space.

If you have a lawn and just bigger or ask a tractor or ATV, you should consider a lawn sweeper tow rope. These are stretched to the back of your mower or ATV, and pulled behind him. They can often be offset by the mower, so you can "cut and collect" in one fell swoop. Towed sweepers arematerials more effectively more expensive than push-types and are (in metal rather than plastic) built and require some assembly. Tow types require more disk space, although this should not be a problem if you already store an ATV or tractor.

Most types of sweeper, but can be disassembled between uses to save even more effective. Whether you are considering the purchase of a sweeper lawn, or to decide which model to choose, we consider the question at the beginning of thisThe article and the right decision.

To put the rake, and consider a replacement device, which will save you time, save your arms and back, and make your lawn look great

If you want some 'in-depth analysis, complaints or requests from users to read a wide range of sweeping lawn, lawn Sweepers.net favor.

If a snow plow snowplow Better Than?

!±8± If a snow plow snowplow Better Than?

What's better than a snow plow or a snowblower? This is the question many people ask when it's time to remove snow from sidewalks and driveways. Snow removal is a common occurrence in many parts of the world. You prepare for it and find ways to quickly remove snow, you can with your life. All at one time or another have had to shovel the way out. And it takes one time to realize that it is faster with a snow plow or snow plows. But which is better? We try toCompare ...

A snow plow has a blade on the front of the vehicle that pushes the snow to the side or directly connected. There is a lot 'of snow. A support is attached to the front of the vehicle and the blade is connected to the bracket. The blade has uses travel safety in the event of a sidewalk or a tree or solid object. This allows the blade around, or skip the object without the blade. With a snow plow can be very fast, low maintenance, easy to push the snowoff the road and you're done.

A snow plow or snow thrower is a machine that collects the snow and throws it out of your way. Instead of just pushing the snow aside, really throws the snow off a piece. No threat of snow to fall back just behind him or the creation of large piles of snow. Snow blowers can be a stand-alone machine or can be connected to a vehicle. Maintenance work is still needed, and because it can result in accidents moving parts as possible.

So whatis better a snowplow or a snowblower? This is up to you. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, but it is personal preference and how much to spend time and money you want. One of them is much better and faster than shoveling.
